Jaron Waldman is founder and CEO of Curbside, a mobile shopping app and retail technology that notifies store employees when customers are on approach. Jaron previously founded Placebase, a Los Angeles location technology company that was acquired by Apple in 2009. After the acquisition Jaron spent 4 years at Apple leading the Geo team developing location-based services across the Apple ecosystem including Maps, CoreLocation and MapKit on iOS & OS X. At Apple Jaron led development teams with responsibilities that included user positioning, geocoding, routing, map data ingest/ETL/derivation, conflation, local search, traffic, vector map tiles, satellite/aerial imagery, harvest/log aggregation, analytics, data licensing and large scale hosted maps infrastructure. He became fascinated with the potential of location technology in the nascent era of Mobile commerce, prompting him to leave Apple in 2013 to co-found Curbside.
